Caring for Your Joinery
Your cabinetry has been manufactured using premium materials and finishes.
With simple ongoing care, it will continue to perform beautifully for many years.
Cleaning
Use:
- A soft microfibre cloth
- Warm water
- Mild detergent
Avoid:
- Abrasive cleaners
- Steel wool
- Scourers
- Acetone
- Methylated spirits
- Bleach
- Ammonia-based cleaners
- Solvent-based products
Always dry surfaces after cleaning.
Moisture
Moisture is the greatest enemy of quality cabinetry.
Always:
- Wipe spills immediately
- Dry sink areas after use
- Ensure dishwashers are correctly sealed
- Avoid leaving wet cloths on cabinetry
- Maintain silicone around sinks
Heat
Do not place the following directly against cabinetry or decorative panels without suitable protection:
- Hot pots
- Frying pans
- Slow cookers
- Kettles
- Coffee machines
Excessive heat and steam may damage cabinet finishes over time.
Door and Drawer Care
Do not slam doors.
Do not overload drawers beyond their intended capacity.
If a door or drawer becomes misaligned, contact Cummins Joinery before attempting repairs yourself.
Stone Benchtops
Stone should be cleaned using warm water and a pH-neutral cleaner.
Avoid placing hot cookware directly onto stone surfaces.
Always use chopping boards and trivets.
Please refer to the stone manufacturer’s care instructions for additional recommendations.
Timber and Timber Veneers
Natural timber is a living material.
Small variations in colour, grain and texture are normal and form part of the beauty of genuine timber.
Timber may also expand or contract slightly with seasonal humidity changes.
